Employee account records series, 1930-1944.

The Employee Account records series is organized into seven subseries. The Case Name File subseries, 1930-1944 (6 cubic ft.), contains files about employees who received assistance from the Sociological Department. The files are divided into two subsubseries: Active and Inactive Accounts. An employee file may include departmental communications, correspondence regarding delinquent bills, tax statments, receipts, land titles, deeds, insurance policies, land contracts or wage deduction forms. The Dearborn School Milk Case records subseries, 1931-1936 (1.2 cubic ft.), contains investigation reports which list the persons name, address, condition of home, employment history, names of family members, assets, liabilities, insurance, and any investigator comments. The Federal Housing Administration subseries, 1939-1941 (0.8 cubic ft.), contains correspondence and building supply estimates regarding employees who applied for FHA modernization loans. The Inkster Home Maintenance and Improvement surveys, 1939-1940 (2.4 cubic ft.), contain photographs and a corresponding written report documenting home improvements made to home in Inkster, Michigan. Also included are E.D. Brown's files on Inkster School District No. 7. The Investigations subseries, 1931-1940 (2.4 cubic ft.), contains investigation reports and attached departmental communications documenting the same personal information as the Dearborn school milk case investigation reports. The Personnel subseries, 1933-1941 (0.4 cubic ft.), contains letters from former employees and other people who want employment; and departmental correspondence between the Disbursement Department, Sociological Department and Harry Bennett. The Name Index subseries, ca. 1930s (2 card files), contains several partial card indexes to employees living in Dearborn Township, Detroit, Garden City, Inkster and St. Clair Shores who received assistance from the Sociological Department. Most subseries records are arranged alphabetically by last name.
